Jennifer Schrader is a breast cancer survivor with hopes to bring her community together. The concept of Good Energy was born from the realization that her friend Natasha, who had to take a health journey with a lymphoma diagnosis, did not have the support of friends and family that Jennifer had access to. To say it takes a village to navigate a cancer journey is an understatement.
Jennifer asked her network of friends and family to provide meals, encouragement and gifts to lighten Natasha’s load. Natasha felt the difference that community support could offer in our darkest moments. At the same time, Jennifer had found an inspirational song to do with her Zumba class called “Good Energy”. Its lyrics say “All I need is Good Energy. I don’t need any negativity around me”. This inspired the name for this communiTEA focused Tea Party LLC.
Jennifer lives in Eau Claire Wisconsin with her husband, daughter and fur babies Lali (a spoiled Shiba Inu), Audrey (a cuddly tabby cat) and Oliver (a spunky orange fireball of a kitty). Her adult son is working towards a Master’s Degree in Psychology at UW Madison. Jennifer has a degree in Advertising/Journalism from UW Eau Claire, works for UW Stout in their Vocational Rehabilitation Department and teaches Zumba Toning at the Downtown Eau Claire YMCA. She enjoys planning party events, crafting, cooking and music.
Natasha Burt was essential in the beginning planning stages of Good Energy. She brought imaginative ideas, created beautiful surroundings and was the person behind the design of our logo. She and I dreamed of opening a business together to have something to drive us when the going got tough on our cancer journeys.
She has decided that this is not the right time in her life to pursue this dream and has stepped away. She will always be considered to be a valuable contributor to Good Energy.
